Welcome to the CAS Prehealth Committee Application
You should fill out Parts I & II of this application if you currently plan on applying to schools of the health professions in June or July of 2025 to begin classes in Fall 2026.
You should NOT fill out this application if you have previously interviewed or had a portfolio review with our Committee. We interview candidates only once. Previously interviewed candidates will be able to submit updates to the Committee in the spring.
If you previously filled out an application but did not complete an interview, we are happy to attempt to reunite you with your previous work. If you applied but did not interview or portfolio review in 2019-2023, you should be able to access your materials by clicking on the application "Prehealth Committee Application for Fall 23 Matriculation (and Prior)"; if you cannot find them, email preprof.docs@nyu.edu.
If it has been more than four years since you graduated, you should schedule an appointment to speak with an advisor before proceeding to discuss whether the Committee Letter, focused on your NYU experiences, will be the best way to accurately reflect your candidacy. We find for almost all candidates a letter focused on your undergraduate accomplishments is not a useful addition to your portfolio once you’ve spent more time out of college than in it.
The 2024-2025 Committee Application for Summer 2025 applicants to schools of the health professions will open on October 1, 2024.
Regular undergraduates and undergraduate alumni will receive instructions and a guide to completing the process in The Medical Record on October 3 and an in-person and virtual overview session will be held on September 25.
The FINAL deadline for Part I is December 15, 2024 at 11:59 PM NYC time. Applicants who miss this deadline will not be able to access Part II for this cycle and will not be eligible for a Committee Portfolio Review or Committee Letter this summer.
The complete application is due at 11:59 PM on February 1, 2025. Applicants who miss this deadline will not be eligible for a Committee Portfolio Review or Committee Letter this summer. Applicants who experience technical difficulties after the Preprofessional Advising Center closes will not be eligible for an extension. The system will close and will not accept further work or submissions at 11:59:00 PM.

We firmly expect applicants to adhere to all relevant deadlines, however, applicants experiencing extraordinary circumstances should reach out to us. Please be advised that coursework, examinations, study away, and the MCAT are not considered by the Committee to constitute extraordinary circumstances. We understand that many of you are at increased risk of illness due to direct work in healthcare, so we encourage you to complete the application early while you are healthy rather than wait until the last moment.
All elements of the Prehealth Committee Application can be paused and your work saved. You must go all the way through pressing the SUBMIT button for a given part of the application to complete the part. If you do not hit the submit button, that stage of your application is not complete and you cannot move forward.
